Today we once again carried on with interior shots as we wanted to get them done and out of the way as they were only a small part of the opening and could then concentrate on the harder parts to film. These were still inside Sam's house.

After looking over the shots at the end of the filming session none of us were happy with how they turned out as they were extreamly grainy and there was also a dead pixel in the video's. We wanted to fix this but had no scedualled time to do so anytime soon so we plan to reshoot these again at a later time as well as get a better camera so that the dead pixel wasn't present.

Today we met up and did interior shots inside Sam's house. We set up our pentagram and candels and the camera was set up on a table so that it was looking down on all four members of the group. This was a high angled shot.

Research into genre

Horror

Horror is a film genre conveying negative thoughts and views. The theme plays on the audiences insecurities and fears to create the emotional response they want. Horror films  have been around for more than a century. Macabre and Supernatural are the most popular themes for the films genre. These may overlap with other themes like fantasy, supernatural fiction and thriller. They thrive on the audiences nightmares, fears and being afraid of the unknown. The plots of horror films involve either an event or evil force. Horror is a extremely popular genre and is loved by people of all ages as it can come in many different forms even for children. The film 'Caroline' is a popular children's film they some would consider creepy or even scary due to its dark story.

Types of Typography used in Titles

In media the use of typography and titles can be key to making or breaking an audiences attention withing seconds. Picking the right typography for your titles is really important, the aesthetics have to just right to make the rigth impact on the audience. If the titles dont fit or look weird it can cause the film/program to look cheap or like it has had very little effort put into it. That is not what you want your audience to think when they are first seeing your film!

Your titles can also set the atmosphere for the film. If the titles are pink with curvy typography then the audience can have the preconception that it is more then likely going to be a romance film. Where as on the other hand, horror films are going to be harsh, bold and more than likely in various shades of red and black.

Film production

A production logo is a special logo that they use to produce and advertise a film. By showing this to the audience they know that it is a creation of theirs. This logo is how they are identified.
